Campaigning for GWPs that are the ‘Best of Health’
In 2010 the German Wirehaired Pointer Club launched its GWP Health web site.
Aimed at giving information to the public about what to look for when considering purchasing a GWP. By highlighting the need for health testing to try to control as much as is possible, the breeding of healthy GWPs this web site also hopes to encourage more breeders to take advantage of all relevant health tests available.
GWP Health Campaigns 2011
With this Health focus in mind the GWPC has launched two campaigns for 2010 - 11 aimed at encouraging the use of health testing “Breeding Healthy GWPs”. The other aimed at encouraging all GWP owners to help the Animal Health Trust in creating a test for Epilepsy by submitting DNA samples - “Swab Your Dog”
